Minolta MD Stuck on MD AdapterUpdated 5 months ago

Sometimes if you do not install the adapter correctly as shown below: (It can get stuck on the adapter)

Then, with the lens and adapter in this orientation below, hold the lens steady and rotate the adapter in the direction of the arrow:

Another visual cue is that the top of the adapter will have the MD-LM, and your lens likely has a similar mark for the top of the lens. I've circled their position to each other when the adapter and lens are locked together above in green.


If the lens gets stuck because you did not install the lens correctly to the adapter as shown above, this can cause the lens to get stuck. 

if you do install the lens incorrectly and it does get stuck. please follow the information below:

the thin metal flange circled below in purple, is what's stopping the lens from turning. If the flange can be moved away from the lens bayonets, so that it no longer stops them from moving, that is likely what can help the adapter to be removed.
