Using a clean lens cloth grip the glass firmly in one hand and the adapter edge the other.

Rotate the adaptor clockwise while holding the glass still, the retention ring has quite a few threads so just keep turning.

Eventually the glass portion will come free of the adapter, be careful as there are three pieces to the adapters magnifying unit.

Put the pieces in a safe spot while using the adapter, to put them in just reverse the process.
